Commotion In Osun As Soldiers, Police Clash In Osogbo (Pictures)


Situation turns bloody today as Soldiers, Police engaged in fisticuffs around Okini, suburb Oshogbo, Osun State Capital, AFAM News can report.

Eye witness account revealed that the fight broke out after two officials of the Nigeria Army who were in camouflage and drove a Nissan saloon car with number plate KTU-851DC accused a young man who was also in his car of blocking their way. 

AFAM News learnt that the Army Officials asked the man to prostrate inside a dirty water in the middle of the road as a punishment for his offense.

However, Situation got worse when a policeman who was not in uniform saw the inhuman treatment and tried to interfere but received thunderous slaps from the Army officials.

In retaliation, the aggrieved policeman was allegedly punched one of the army officers in the face, and within a twinkle of an eye, there was mobilization from the relatives of man accused by the army officers and later resulted to violence and public outcry. 

AFAM News gathered that this is not the first time army officers will be treating civilians in an extra judicial manner, and making them go through deadly punishment bothering on excuses that do not hold water. 

Before AFAM News left the scene of the incident, Officials of the Nigeria Police, Osogbo Command came to arrest the situation and carry the enraged officers to their custody.
