Karma! Two To Die By Hanging For Murder In Osun
Justice Jide Falola of Osun State High Court sitting in Ikinrun has Sentenced two middle aged men, Abiodun Orisakunle 21, and Olayinka Opadokun 29 to death by hanging.
The accused which include one Femi Aroyeun 24, were first arraigned on January 22, 2018 over the killing of one Adeoye Matthew on March 9, 2017 around Babjo Secondary School, Idi- Iroko Area, Ikirun, Osun State.
Meanwhile, the accused pleaded not guilty to the two counts of conspiracy and murder charged against them.
Proving the case by the prosecution team from the Ministry of Justice, led by Philips Afolayan together with Oladipupo Damilare, Sergeant Aina Clement and Sergeant Josephine Erokpo said the late Matthew Adeoye was returning from work with his friend, Damilare Oladipupo on the day he was murdered.
One of the accused, Orisakunle, it was learnt, hit the deceased with a motorcycle which later resulted into a hurt argument between them.
However, a group of hoodlums known as Olowoaye Boys took to scene to support Orisakunle, and chased both Adeoye and Oladipupo away, adding that the group later caught up with Adeoye, beat him till he sustain grievous injuries on his death.
But Justice Jide Falola pronounced them guilty of the charge after prosecution proved that they were involved in the death of one Adeoye Matthew.
The police had said the offence contravened “sections 319 (1), 316 (1) and 324 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 34, Vol. 2, Laws of Osun State.”
