Sacrilege! Man Caught Drinking Holy Communion Wine He Stole From A Lagos Catholic Church




It's far beyond what man can catch a glimpse on, it would rather cost a curious mind to want to know more when a 27-year-old man, name given as Faniyi Ajibola was caught on Friday drinking Holy Communion wine at a Catholic Church at Mushin Lagos State.

Ajibola who resides in Mushin was said to have on that faithful day entered into the Catholic Church to steal two bottles of holy Communion wine, soaps and sachet of salt worth N46,000.

Faniyi was later brought before Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court and was  arraigned on two count charge bothering on theft and breach of peace, but he pleaded not guilty

The prosecution counsel, Edet Akadu, told the court that Mr Ajibola committed the offence on September 24, 2019.

According to Akadu, the Faniyi unlawfully entered a Catholic church at Mushin in Lagos and stole two bottles of holy communion, four sachet of soap and a sachet of salt valued N46,000.

He told the court that Mr Ajibola was caught by members of the church while drinking the Holy Communion wine at the altar and handed him over to the police.

Mr Akadu said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Chief Magistrate K.O. Ogundare admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 5, for further hearing.
