Outrage As Two Lawyers Face Trial Over N1M Land Theft In Osun


Two Lawyers Ayodele Laogun and Matthew Laogun have been dragged before an Osun State High Court Sitting Osogbo for alleged N1m land theft. 
The suspects were on Tuesday arraigned before Justice Wasiu Akanbi on three counts bothering on conspiracy, false pretense and stealing. 
The Police Prosecutor, S. Ayodele from the Zone ‘XI’ Police Command, Osogbo told the court the suspects committed the offence in October 2010, at the Osogbo Judicial Division of Federal High Court, after they both conspired and obtained a sum of N1m from one Dr  Gbadebo Adeyemi, a land agent to one Dr Charles, who is also a fraudster. 
Prosecutor Ayodele said the suspects committed an offence contrary to Section 11(C) and punishable under Section 13 of the Advance Fee fraud and other related Offences Act, Cap A (8), Vol. 1, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2006.”
The defence counsel, Bamidele Ajibade, made an oral application for the bail of the defendants.
In his ruling, Justice Akanbi granted the bail application and adjourned the matter till February 20, 2020.
